Tigers Credit Union reflects on their achievements at SVCU’s 2012 AGM
The Tigers Credit Union eagerly took the opportunity to address the SVCU membership at our 2012 AGM, held April 23rd. This exciting new branch of the SVCU is a collaboration of the students of SVRSS, their educator Mr. Byron Ross and the guidance of the SVCU executive including Mr. Ken Doleman CEO and Mr. Craig Zamzow, COO. The students have formed their own board, established an executive and take turns filling the role of MSR when open for business.
Josh Eagle, Ashton Laforce , Brett Eggie and Dathan Silverthorn each took the opportunity to speak of the achievements and accomplishments of Tigers Credit Union in its first year of operation . In short Tigers Credit Union has reached some major bench marks with 53 registered members and a healthy volume of 4-5 transactions per shift which runs from 12:00pm – 12:50pm daily. In taking careful note of the cooperative principles the Tigers Credit Union strived to generate community awareness within the Swan Valley Regional Secondary School through food drives and actively participating in the WE Day Youth movement.
As Brett Eggie noted “The opportunity to take this course and participate in setting up the Tigers Credit Union branch, as well as operate it throughout the year, has been a rewarding experience.” We look forward to the continued success of the Tigers Credit Union in the years to come and the opportunity it will offer our leaders of tomorrow.
