It is important to keep a record of contents of your safety deposit box. Print out a copy of our Record of Contents form, right click and select “save target as” to copy the pdf to your hard drive. Use Adobe’s Acrobat Reader to open the file and print it out.
When you open a safety deposit box, a lease is signed identifying those who may access the box.You are given two keys which can only be duplicated through Swan Valley Credit Union. We recommend you carry one key and store the other at home (not in your safety deposit box). We have a master key which is required along with one of your keys to open the box. Only the people designated in your lease agreement are allowed to access the box. Access is available during Swan Valley Credit Union’s hours of operation.
If you loose one of your keys, bring the other in to Swan Valley Credit Union immediately for duplication. There is a $25 charge for a lost key. If both keys are lost, the box must be drilled and the lock replaced. The cost of this expensive procedure is $90.00.
Swan Valley Credit Union is unable to provide insurance on what you store in your safety deposit box as the contents are confidential and known only to you. If this is a concern, please contact your insurance agent to arrange coverage.
Documents can be released to properly authorized persons such as your spouse or executor/executrix.
